E-Commerce Policies

Setting up an e-commerce business requires knowledge on existing laws, rules, and regulations that governs your business activities.

Risk management programs and policies will need to be put in place to ensure compliance and minimize exposure to legal problems later on.

Entrepreneurs, supply chain, sales, marketing, retail, operations, and finance professionals are invited to take part in this exclusive boot camp that aims to tackle e-commerce policies including E-Commerce Law, Data Privacy Law, Cybercrime Law, Consumer Protection Law, and related policies.

This learning program will be conducted in partnership with AIE College and Asian Institute of E-Commerce. This is also the module 7 lecture equivalent for those taking the Certified E-Commerce Specialist, Entrepreneur, Professional Program.

The program will be conducted at the following locations:

  • MAKATI – July 18, 2015 at Best Western Plus Antel Hotel, Makati Avenue, Makati City from 9 AM to 5 PM. (with option to attend the corresponding weekly webinar sessions and access to the e-learning system from June 24 to July 15, 2015)
  • ONLINE – July 22, 2015 to August 12, 2015 (every Wednesday from 8:30 PM – 10:00 PM)
  • CEBU – July 25, 2015 (Saturday) at Third Team Media, 5th floor IMEZ Building, 502 Pueblo Verde, MEZII, Basak, Lapu-Lapu City from 9 AM to 5 PM. (with option to attend the corresponding weekly webinar sessions and access to the e-learning system from July 22, to August 12, 2015)

  • Entrepreneurs, supply chain, sales, marketing, retail, operations, finance, and IT professionals who would like to identify e-commerce solutions and processes that need to be put in place in compliance to existing laws.
  • Entrepreneurs, supply chain, sales, marketing, retail, operations, finance, and IT professionals concerned on liability exposure for content and promotions that will be carried out by the company.
  • Entrepreneurs, supply chain, sales, marketing, retail, operations, finance, and IT professionals involved in making sure that the e-commerce site will function well and has functions built-in that can be used or be presented as evidence as necessary.

  • Digital signatures recognition
  • Electronic contracts

2. Data Privacy Law

  • Salient features of the law.
  • Data gathering and storage practices.
  • Working with contractors handling your data.
  • Filing and handling data privacy complaints.

3. Cybercrime Law

  • Salient features of the law.
  • Reporting a cybercrime.
  • Responding to law enforcement investigation in relation to Cybercrime Law.
  • Court order, search and seizure, evidence handling.

4. Consumer Protection Law

  • Consumer Protection on E-Commerce, E-Banking, and Telecommunication Services
  • Setting up a Help Desk and Complaints Handling Process.
  • Sales Promotion Guidelines for Sale, Deals, and related offerings.
  • Refunds, Returns, and Exchange Policy.
